Baals Bridge and Pre-Recorded Masonic History
March 15 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pmFree
The Grand Lodge of Ireland is the second oldest Grand Lodge in the world and the oldest in continuous existence. While the Grand Lodge celebrates 1725 as its foundation year, there is considerable evidence that there were Masonic Lodges meeting in Ireland prior to the eighteenth century.
W.B. Dan Dolan details historical events that clearly show that Freemasonry was a part of Irish society long before 1725. More specifically, W.B. Dolan explains “The Trinity Tripos 1688“ and the famous “Baal’s Bridge Square” of 1507, which clearly show the relationship between “Operative” and “Speculative” Masons.
Finally, W.B. Dolan will describe the impact of Freemasonry on Irish civil society and how the working tools that prevailed in 1507 are still in use today.
